The household computer
A quiet computer that keeps the house in order.
Orca Keel runs your household's paperwork: returns, renewals, school forms, repairs, the bill that is due Friday. It keeps the record, does only what you told it to, and keeps working when the internet is out.
How it works
It keeps the record.
Every obligation becomes a matter with a deadline, a source and the evidence. The record is plain files on a drive you own. It works without any AI provider at all.
It does only what you said.
Nothing happens in your name without a specific grant: this bill, this amount, this week. A routine cannot give itself more. Every action traces back to the grant that allowed it.
It keeps working.
Reminders, filing and deadlines run on the box, not in the cloud. A power cut, a bad update or a provider outage does not lose a thing.
Daybook
The household's book, kept for you.
Daybook is what you open on your phone. Photograph a letter, forward an email, or press the button and say it. Daybook files it, finds the deadline, and tells you what it needs. One adult in every house carries this in their head. Now the house does.
Reading a letter or drafting a reply takes a model. Keel works with the ones you already know, Claude, ChatGPT or another provider you pick, and sends each one only the part of a matter the job needs, under the same rule as everything else: only what you allowed. The record, the deadlines and the reminders never need a model at all.
Daybook's line is the house, written down.
Source: a letter photographed Tuesday. Amount: $138.40. Same as last month within a dollar.
Pay the water bill, up to $140, before Friday. Nothing else.
An example. Nothing on this page comes from a real household.
For the installer
Not an agent with your passwords.
The other boxes ship a general agent with a shell, a browser and your logins, then put a fence around it. Keel has no shell for routines, no third-party skill store, and no microphone that listens on its own.
The layer that makes this hold is Diamond Dog, the studio's delegation-first environment. A routine gets a specific job, clear limits and a record of what happened. It cannot give itself more, and the record says what was seen, what was claimed, and what is still unknown.
Diamond Dog's line is delegate work, not your identity.
- No terminal, ever.
- No skill store at launch.
- Updates that can't brick it.
- Nothing listens until you press the button.
- Your record is yours to take.
- No public ports. Pair from your phone.
- No model runs on the box. A provider gets one task's worth, under a grant.
In the carton
Four things. Nothing to assemble.
Fanless, silent, the size of a book. Ethernet in. Lives on a shelf.
About as much electricity as a night light.
The pairing code and three steps. That is the manual.
Keep it in another room. Recovery works on day one, no subscription needed.
Where it stands
In development.
Keel is being built in one house first. The first run will be small: [UNITS] households, shipping [DATE]. Pricing is not set and will not be guessed at here.
